Can I submit claims or create client charts before I'm in-network?
The "In-Network First" Requirement
To maintain billing integrity and ensure you are paid for your services, CCS requires that you are officially credentialed before initiating any client-specific administrative tasks.
-
No Pre-Credentialing Verifications: Do not submit Benefit Verification Forms for clients whose insurance you are not yet in-network with under CCS. These forms are only for clients you can bill immediately.
-
The Chart Creation Rule: Avoid creating charts in Simple Practice for clients you "intend" to bill in the future.
-
The Risk of Errors: Creating charts too early leads to a high probability of logging sessions in the wrong place. If sessions are logged in an unverified or "placeholder" chart, the CCS billing team may never see them, leading to unsubmitted claims.
When to Take Action
Wait until you receive the official "In-Network" notification email from the CCS credentialing team. Once you have that confirmation:
-
Submit your Benefit Verification Forms.
-
Follow the instructions provided to have your Simple Practice charts created by our team.
-
Begin logging sessions for those specific insurance carriers.
