Can I update my Kaiser directory photo and 'Accepting New Patients' status?
Kaiser Directory Limitations
While we understand the importance of a complete and accurate online presence, the Kaiser Permanente provider directory has specific technical restrictions that are managed exclusively by Kaiser's internal IT and credentialing departments.
-
Profile Photos: Currently, there is no administrative portal or authorization level that allows CCS or individual clinicians to upload or change photos on the Kaiser directory.
-
"Accepting New Patients" Status: An issue previously existed within Kaiser's system where many CCS providers were defaulted to "not open to new clients." This was resolved in the spring of 2026, but if you notice this status is inaccurate on your Kaiser directory page, let CCS know and we'll request that it gets updated in their directory.
-
Our Advocacy: CCS has repeatedly flagged this status error to Kaiser leadership. While they have acknowledged the glitch and are reportedly working on a long-term solution, a definitive fix has not yet been deployed.
What You Can Do
Since the Kaiser directory is currently restricted, we recommend focusing your professional branding on platforms you can control:
-
CCS Website Profile: Ensure your photo and bio are up-to-date on the main Collective Counseling Solutions site.
-
External Directories: Use Psychology Today or TherapyDen to clearly state your availability for Kaiser members.
-
Direct Communication: When talking to potential referrals, clarify that you are indeed accepting new patients despite what the Kaiser portal may indicate.
